Born and raised in Philadelphia, Pa, Ms. McClain attended Temple University, majoring in Chemistry.  Walking home from school, I was picked out in a crowd to appear in the Sidney Poitier film, The Lost Man. Three months later, boarded a train for New York and never looked back. While working at NBC as Asst. Talent Coordinator for Johnny Carson’s Tonight Show, I took classes and participated in workshops everywhere from HB Studio to the Actors Studio to the Negro Ensemble Company and all places in between. Now, with over thirty five years broad-based theatrical experience, I have worked in all aspects of the theatre discipline, with extensive background as a performing artist, director, writer, arts consultant, teacher and motivational speaker. A proud grandmother of four: Jerrel, Jahlil, Jair and Jamila, they are my primary reason for relocating to California in 2006.
Ensemble Member of Antaeus Theatre Company and Lifetime member of the Actors Studio.
